The Christmas Season is upon us. Christians around the world will once again celebrate the birth of our Saviour & Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus was born into a family from the direct line of King David of Israel. The death of our son-in-law Mark Moore leaves us heart broken and grieving. We watched as Mark courageously fought a losing battle against brain cancer. We now value more highly the years we had together with Mark & Sharla, Liam & Lauren as part of our family life. Mark was an amazing man, truly an over achiever in everything he did, whether in sports with the family, business, or financial product sales. We mourn, and our great loss will be felt for years to come. The bible tells the story of how King David lost his son, Absalom, in a battle. When the tragic news of his sons death reached him, we are told he covered his face, wept aloud and mourned. At that time of grief he was quoted as saying, O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you – O Absalom, my son, my son! For us at this time the pain is equal to what King David expressed. However, the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, came to die on the cross instead of us, so the sting would be taken out of death and we could experience Eternal Life. In our hearts the words of King David seem so appropriate. O our son, “Mark”, our son, our son! How we all loved you! Dad & Mom Bender, LaRoyd & Roslyn

Best 3rd base coach ever! Mark was loved and will be missed by our entire family. We have shared so many great memories...tournaments, summer pool parties, concerts and simply watching our children grow up together. He loved and was so proud of his children Liam and Lauren. Mark was a very determined man and this was never more obvious than these past 14 months. He was a remarkable story teller and had a great sense of humour and these wonderful traits never left him during the many struggles with his illness. We will miss so many things about Mark and our heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends.

John & Marjorie: We were saddened by the news of Marks passing and our deepest sympathy to you and your family. I am so very thankful that I got to spend the afternoon at your place with Mark while he was visiting Mitchell. He was a gentle soul and his smile was infectious. We had many great times together when we played coed volleyball on the same team and I will cherish those memories. Unfortunately I am out of the country and unable to attend the service, but I look forward to hearing about his celebration of life from his circle of friends.
