TYERS, Jane Frances - Peacefully at Chartwell London residence on Sunday, February 25, 2018 following a twenty-three month battle with Scleroderma. Jane was born in London Ontario and was the dear sister of Jim Tyers (predeceased 2016) survived by his wife Julie. Proud aunt of Brent (Elizabeth) of Ancaster, Jeff (Cathleen) of Stoney Creek, and Bryan (Danielle) of Newcastle, Ontario; cherished great aunt of Emma Frances, Avery, Cody, Madeline, Daniel, Ben, Joshua and Kieran. Jane enjoyed nursing and strongly believed that caring is the essence of nursing. Over her career, she provided excellent instruction and coaching to expectant moms, with an affectionate sweet spot for newborn babies. Altruistic by nature, she offered practical nursing advice to those appreciative of her concern. An individual with energy and endurance to spare, she enjoyed many extra curricular activities; in the early years she happily watched her nephews play hockey in cold Sudbury arenas and challenged many water sports at the family cottage on Manitoulin Island. Locally, Jane was a London Knights fan, a member of the local curling club and enjoyed golfing with her friends weekly. Her passion for shopping was exceptional, often to the delight and entertainment of her many dedicated friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 220 James Street at Richmond, London. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 1; 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Street.
