Visitation

Visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond St. Visitation preceding Mass at the Church from 9-10 AM on Thursday. Parish prayers in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

Service

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside St. at Maitland St., on Thursday, August 1 at 10 AM.

Death Notice

McDERMOTT, Doris - Peacefully at McGarrell Place on Sunday, July 28, 2019, Doris Louise McDermott, nee Annis, of London at age 92. Beloved wife of the late Robert McDermott. Loving mother of Bud and his wife Sue, Jim and his wife Bev McParland, Marg, Mary Ellen, Rob and his wife Lise, Lisa and her husband James Cottrell. Dear grandmother of Ryan (Caroline), Kate (Kerina), Emily, Kayla, Campion, Siobhan, and great-grandmother of Rhys.

Born near Mitchell in Hibbert Township, to Wilbert and Mabel Annis. Predeceased by siblings James, Frances, and Gordon. Doris was a teacher and taught in Dublin, St. Thomas, and London. Later in life she worked for several years for the A&P Grocery Store. Doris enjoyed quilting, rug-hooking, baking, and especially cherished time with her family and friends. Special thanks to McGarrell Place and the staff on Ivey Lane.
