BUECHLER, Major (Retired) Henry Max, CD, RCAF
After a long and well-lived life, Henry “Hank” Buechler of London died peacefully at Fox Hollow Retirement Residence, London on Sunday, December 13, 2020, in his 95th year. Loved father and father-in-law of John and Tine Buechler of Grand Bend and Ann Buechler of London. Cherished grandfather of Jamie and Karen Buechler and adored great-grandfather of Abigail. Henry was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ruth Buechler (nee Sproat) in 1971, his parents Henry and Veronica (Block) Buechler, sister Dorothy, and brothers Linus, Theodore and Cletus. He is remembered by his sister Mildred, brothers Neil and Norbert and many nieces and nephews. Hank will be dearly missed by the children of Jean Anne Guenther, his long-time companion and best friend, who predeceased him in November. Henry proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 26 years and had fond memories of his time in the military. He was an avid golfer and was a Senator at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club. He achieved his second hole-in-one at age 92. Hank was loved and respected by many for his thoughtfulness, quick wit and sage advice. He was a true gentleman. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Fox Hollow for their kind, compassionate care of Hank during his time with them. At Henry’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service with interment in Stratford Avondale Cemetery will follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
