Death Notice
HENDERSON, Dale - Suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at University Hospital as a result of a stroke, Dale Gilford Henderson, age 74, was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife, Nora Elizabeth Henderson. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Todd (Lori) and Lisa (Carlos Silva); grandchildren Katelyn and Andrew; sisters June Dale (the late Larry) and Fay Barnett (Jim); fondly remembered by his sisters in law; Janice Morphy (the late Nelson), Sylvia Schiffer (Jurgen) and Lori Luscombe (Terry) as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Dale lived with abundance for life, always looking for the next great business venture. He was an Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Waterloo. He was the President of D.G. Henderson & Associates Ltd, Sun Parlour Raceway Ltd., Arondale Farms, Bourbon Street Station, the Institute of Integrated Medicine and the London City Music Theatre. Dale also served as Ward 9 Councilor for the City of London. He was the founding director of the London Small Business Centre, Advanced London Inc., London Economic Development Corporation and a past president and chair of The London High Technology Association.
Dale had a love of music, in particular the 'big band' style of Guy Lombardo. He had a passion for playing his drums and accordion. People will remember him playing for the Dutch Club's Tomato Soup Band in many Santa Claus Parades. Dale had a spark for life that will carry on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be missed most for his contagious smile and huge sense of humour.
Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be conducted at Harris Funeral Home by Pastor Oscar Castillo of Grace Lutheran Church, Strathroy. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. His family will plan a future celebration of Dale’s life when everyone can be there as would be his wish.
Of Dale's many achievements, nothing was more important to him than his devotion to his family and friends. Dale was involved in many charitable organizations and in lieu of flowers please donate to any charity of your choice or pay forward an act of kindness in his memory.

We really never like to say goodbye old friend so let us just say it was an honour and a pleasure to go to school with you, work with you and indeed play with you from the time we were wet behind the ears kids. Our dads were best friends and thankfully we carried on where they left off so many years ago. Always with a hand up ....not a hand out ....you will always be remembered fondly and with great affection. Until we meet again our fine friend . Joe and Sue Barnes

Todd and Lisa;
My sincere thoughts on the passing of your dad. Dale and I were next door neighbours and good friends growing up on Tecumseh Ave. We shared alot of fun times doing things together. He even tried to teach me to play drums but quickly found out I had no musical talents.

The Henderson house was my second home through highschool and Dale was always larger than life. His goofy sense of humour and love for life and his family is how I will always remember him. My sincere condolences to Lisa and Todd and their family. He will be truly missed.

So sad to hear of Dale’s passing. I worked with him at Western Fair Raceway and later at the IMAX Theater, and various other projects. There was never a shortage of different ideas or projects with Dale. Always done with fun, a laugh and a smile. One of a kind , for sure. I’m so glad I got know him along the way, he’ll be missed.
Until next time!
