Death Notice
SMITH, Bruce B. - At his residence with family by his side, Bruce Byron Smith of London passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Marion (Bogie) for 65 years. Loved Father of David (Carla) and Cathy. Loving Grandfather of Devin (Caitlin), Tarynne (Paul) and Mitchell and proud great-grandfather of Brice and Nyla. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Dorothy and his nieces and nephews.
Bruce was born on July 18, 1929. He was predeceased by his sisters Bernice (Harold) Skinner, June (Clyde) Edge, and his brother Ross. Bruce was the first Student Council President of H.B. Beal Secondary School in 1948. He had a long career in finance then he changed fields and worked in stained glass. His hobbies were building things, woodworking as well as coaching hockey. Bruce’s favourite times were spent around the table in the back porch of his cottage, playing cards, laughing and joking with his family and friends.
We are so truly appreciative of the support we have received, from our friends and family, during this period of Bruce's journey. Thank you all.
Private family service at Harris Funeral Home. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation followed by interment at Robin’s Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army London Village Adult Day Program, 1340 Dundas St. E., London, ON N5W 3B6 would be appreciated.

Enjoyed meeting Bruce thru the wood turners club , very good sense of humor , which always made me chuckle . May your whole family be at peace with the passing of your love one , he will be remembered !

My sincerest condolences to all of you. What a great legacy he leaves behind and hope that with his passing he and you all will find peace and comfort knowing he is in a better place now and so proud of each and everyone one of you.
Cathy you are a true hero and you left no stone unturned to give the best quality of life at the end of his journey. Embrace the tears of sorrow and joy and your memories from the cottage, his shenanigans and the card table games!

we where saddened to hear of the passing of uncle Bruce. Such a great man. We enjoyed his company and the rivalry between his hockey team and the leafs. He will forever be a good fun memory for us. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Such wonderful memories of many summers at the cottage and get together over the years. There was always so much fun and laughter. Bruce’s inventions were always interesting and useful! He will be missed by all, JoAnne and Scott Laird

Enjoyed & missed their visits when he & Marion stopped at our farm to pick up wood for several years on their way to their cottage.
