Gloria was the heart and soul of the office of the Crown Attorney for much of my career. Although the late Mike Martin QC held the title of Crown Attorney when I started , Gloria was without question the boss. Mike was in charge of the lawyers...Gloria was in charge of everybody. Fiercely loyal to the office she was a tigress on the outside, but a calm and guiding force within. She will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by those who had the opportunity to work alongside her. She was a treasure to all, lawyers and support staff were equal partners in the finest office of the Crown Attorney in Ontario.
Kathleen and Ken and families , she was one of a kind.

In many respects, Gloria was a mother to me in the early years of my career. Always patient, kind, understanding and willing to render support. She had a great sense of humour and when I think of her I see her wry smile as she pondered our youthful missteps. Many years ago, Michael Martin QC told me that any young lawyer could be replaced far more easily that an experienced office administrator. I know he had Gloria in mind and he was absolutely correct. Gloria was the heart of our office and without her the office would have instantly ground to a halt. Everyone who knew Gloria spoke of her in the kindest and most respectful terms.
Gloria, you made the world a brighter place for many of us. You will be missed.

Managing an ever-burgeoning office of lawyers (junior and seasoned) along with veteran provincial prosecutors and high calibre support staff was a feat akin to herding cats but
Gloria Wright carried it off with aplomb.
Ever serene, Gloria reigned over the London Middlesex Crown Attorneys Office for decades as our benevolent queen of hearts - sometimes, if required, with an iron fist in a velvet glove but always with utmost grace and good humour.
Her passing marks the end of an era: Gloria will be missed by all.
