PUDDEPHATT, Alice Ruth – of London Ontario, passed away on September 29, 2023, age 75, after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born to her parents Walter and Ruth Poulton in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on January 27, 1948. She married Richard Puddephatt in 1969, and they moved to Liverpool, England in 1970, before their final move to London, Ontario in 1978. Alice earned her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Regina in 1968, and, later in life, her Master’s degree in Library Science at Western University. She is survived by her children, Susan Molen and Antony Puddephatt, as well as her treasured granddaughter, Anabelle Puddephatt. She leaves behind three siblings: Kathy Dill, Anne Meier, and Arthur Poulton, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Alice’s witty sense of humour was unique and unmistakable, never failing to get a laugh with friends and strangers alike. She appreciated animals, bird watching, and sight-seeing, particularly to explore the beauty of nature. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with family, being especially ruthless at Scrabble. She was courageous, determined, and had a genuine love of life and other people. There will be no formal funeral arrangements as the family will remember her privately.
