Meet the Staff
We’ll help you to create a service or celebration of life that will be meaningful to family and friends.
Our staff can assist you in choosing reasonably-priced cremation and burial options that will help you find peace of mind. We can also prepare a reception in our home-like setting.
Co-owner and wife of founder, the late Jim Harris, Elizabeth assists with many administrative matters for the funeral home. Her presence is invaluable. She is a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of London and has been an energetic mentor for the Western University Rotaract Club. She is a proud grandmother and enjoys gardening and genealogy.
Fondly remembered as a caring man with a wonderful sense of humour, James Harris opened his funeral home in 1962 just before his 30th birthday. He was very dedicated to the people in his care and highly regarded in the community. Away from work, he enjoyed what he called a “long first-childhood” playing baseball and hockey and collecting antique toys. His life continues to be an inspiration to all of us at Harris Funeral Home.
Steve is a graduate of Lucas Secondary School and UWO (BA ’92) and has served as a licensed funeral director since 1994. In 1997, following the death of his father Jim, Steve became managing director of the funeral home and along with his mother, Elizabeth, continues his family’s tradition of caring for London families. He is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Forest City-London and an elder of New St. James Presbyterian Church. He also serves on the Board of Wellspring London. Together, with his wife Lesley and young family, he enjoys the Canadian outdoors in all seasons.
Christy is a graduate of Oakridge Secondary School and UWO King’s College. She graduated with a BA, including a minor in Thanatology in 2009. Christy interned for a year with Harris Funeral Home prior to becoming a licensed funeral director in 2013. She enjoys living in downtown London where she can take advantage of the festivals, restaurants and parks.
