Anita Bell

Obituary

BELL, Anita Jean – Anita passed away peacefully April 13th, 2021 at her Toronto residence, one month into her 100th year. Predeceased by her husband Bruce Bell in 2008, Anita lived a full life dedicated to her family. Born 1922 in Eatonia, Saskatchewan, she grew up in the Weston area of Toronto with her brothers Jim and Bev Burford. She worked at the Loblaws head office and she joined Trans Canada Airlines (later Air Canada) in its early days, where she met and married Bruce in 1946. Settling happily in the West Toronto neighborhood of Islington, Anita loved spending summers at her northern Ontario cottage on Loon Lake near Thunder Bay. In later years she and Bruce made their home in London ON. Open to new experiences, Anita and Bruce travelled extensively and were always up for trying new activities, even trampolining in their 80s with their grandchildren! Anita is survived by her children Mary, Donald, John and Peter, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

We want to express our deep gratitude to Belmont House in Toronto and especially to the staff on 2 West for their constant and outstanding care, particularly during this last difficult year. A celebration of life service will be held when permitted. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Salvation Army.
