Obituary

GRAHAM, Barbara Jane – Died peacefully at University Hospital on Sunday, May 21, 2023, Barbara Jane Graham, nee Baker of London age 86, finally freed of anxiety, pain and fear. Daughter of the late Vern and Grace Baker. Beloved wife of Charles and sister-in-law of the late Beatrice Barker. Married for a wonderful 63 years, with travels to Europe, visits to theatre and other inspirational activities, even becoming a hockey fan. Barbara was the love of my life.

She had a great joy of reading and learning new things. She graduated from UWO with a gold medal in Honours English. Later on, she obtained 4 MA degrees in English, Education, Library Sciences and Theological studies.

Barbara was a teacher at Beck, Laurier and finally Beal. For many years she was a library consultant for the London Board of Education. So many teacher librarians were helped by her expertise. Also an active member of Metropolitan United Church, involved in leading book clubs and especially leading the “Growing in Faith” group. How she enjoyed that experience. In short, a life to be praised.

Special thanks go to Judy Bishop her PSW and Kevin who always brought joy to her life. Virgil’s comment from years ago “Sunt lacrimae rerum” rings so true.
