Obituary

HENDERSON, Dale – Suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at University Hospital as a result of a stroke, Dale Gilford Henderson, age 74, was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife, Nora Elizabeth Henderson. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Todd (Lori) and Lisa (Carlos Silva); grandchildren Katelyn and Andrew; sisters June Dale (the late Larry) and Fay Barnett (Jim); fondly remembered by his sisters in law; Janice Morphy (the late Nelson), Sylvia Schiffer (Jurgen) and Lori Luscombe (Terry) as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

Dale lived with abundance for life, always looking for the next great business venture. He was an Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Waterloo. He was the President of D.G. Henderson & Associates Ltd, Sun Parlour Raceway Ltd., Arondale Farms, Bourbon Street Station, the Institute of Integrated Medicine and the London City Music Theatre. Dale also served as Ward 9 Councilor for the City of London. He was the founding director of the London Small Business Centre, Advanced London Inc., London Economic Development Corporation and a past president and chair of The London High Technology Association.

Dale had a love of music, in particular the ‘big band’ style of Guy Lombardo. He had a passion for playing his drums and accordion. People will remember him playing for the Dutch Club’s Tomato Soup Band in many Santa Claus Parades. Dale had a spark for life that will carry on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be missed most for his contagious smile and huge sense of humour.
