David Crone

Obituary

CRONE, David George — Peacefully, with family by his side, at peopleCare Oakcrossing Long-Term Care on March 31, 2025, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Audrey for 56 years. Loving father to Gillian Crone and Karen Wethey (Peter). Proud and cherished Granda to Emma, Keira, Sarah, and Holly Ponce (JP). Dear brother to Dennis (Marieanne) and the late Russell. Brother-in-law to Prof. Robert Burch (Josephine) and much-loved uncle to Gregory and Dominic, Denise, Richard and Edward.

David was a co-owner of Powerscreen Canada, and a man who brought energy, enthusiasm and humour to everything he did—whether navigating boat life, engaging in political debate, or delighting his grandchildren with laughter and pranks. He was a loving husband and father, a generous brother-in-law, an unforgettable uncle and a fiercely loyal friend.

For those who knew David, he was a caring man who wouldn’t think twice about lending a hand.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at peopleCare Oakcrossing.

A Memorial Service will be held at Byron United Church, 420 Boler Road, London, Ontario, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation in the church from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society or Byron United Church.
