SERVICE

A Celebration of his life will be conducted at the London Citadel Salvation Army, 555 Springbank Drive, on Saturday, January 18 at 11 am.

Obituary

REID, Dr. Donald – With family at home on January 13, 2020, William Donald Reid, MD, FRCP of London in his 81st year. Beloved husband for 54 years of Lillian Reid, nee MacMillan. Loving father of Heather and her husband Scott Burns, and Kenneth Reid. Proud Grandpa of Sarah Burns. Dear brother of Rev. Robert Reid and his wife Ruth of Prince George, BC and David Reid and his wife Anne of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, and many cousins in Australia and Ireland.

Dr. Don was a proud graduate of the Western Medical School (1964). Over the 55 years of his medical career, he served in Montreal, Halifax, London, St. John’s, Regina, and Stratford, as a specialist in Neonatology and later in private practice. He was actively involved with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists. He was a committed Rotarian and an eight-time recipient of Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow. Passionate about politics, Don served on the London School Board from 1974-1984. He enjoyed travel and was an avid theatre-goer and music lover. He maintained an interest in farming from his youth. Don will be remembered for his dry sense of humour, dedication as a physican, and his strong faith.
