Dr. Ralph Bull

Obituary

Ralph LeRoy Bull, age 92, of London, Ontario, died peacefully at home on January 29, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Ralph was predeceased by his cherished wife and best friend Rosemary (Bere) in 2000. He was a loving father to his children Andrew (Nancy) of Vancouver, Amy Jane and Charles (Taren) of Toronto and proud grandfather to Charlotte, Henry, James and Alexandra.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Mable (Moffitt) of McAdam, New Brunswick; siblings Pauline Longstaff of Houlton, Maine; Jack of Hamilton, Jean Robison of Fredericton, Herbert of Brantford, and Ruth Elliott of Charlottetown. Ralph will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in McAdam, Ralph enjoyed summers on Harvey Lake with his family. He graduated from Dalhousie University with his BSc and DDS, then successfully established an orthodontics practice in London. Ralph passionately helped his patients for nearly 40 years, often treating multiple generations of the same family.

After the unexpected death of a colleague, Ralph initiated his involvement in supporting those with mental health challenges. He gave generously of his time and talents to this cause for more than 25 years. Ralph was recognized with the Unsung Hero Award from the London Foundation for his years of volunteer work.

In his retirement, Ralph pursued his long-time interest in opera, attending performances in Europe, Asia, and North America. In addition, he was a buyer of Inuit and First Nations sculptures for Museum London’s Gallery Shop. Ralph will always be remembered for his sense of humour, passion for art, and love of sports, nature and travel.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Brenda and David Wagner for their years of friendship and support, and all the healthcare professionals involved with Ralph’s care.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a mental health or crisis support organization in Ralph’s memory.

Cremation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
