Obituary

LINTON, Frances Muriel

Frances Muriel Linton, nee Hunt, passed away peacefully in London, Ontario on June 12th, 2024 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. James Linton (1958) and sister Betty Burke. Frances is survived by her children Joan (John) Crosby and James David Linton, her brother Roderic Hunt, grandson Ian Crosby and granddaughter Jackie Linton. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Frances moved at a young age to Windsor, Ontario where she spent her youth and met her future husband. After losing her husband, she chose to move herself and 2 small children to Niagara Falls to be close to her parents Frank and Bea Hunt. After some training in secretarial skills, she worked her entire career for the Niagara Falls Board of Education in both high schools and public schools. Frances always loved being around children and her job made that possible. She liked sewing, knitting, gardening and working around her house. She also got to go travelling with her sister Betty on several trips. Her family would like to thank the staff at Mount Hope Marion Villa 5th floor and St. Mary’s 4th floor for all the wonderful care given to her for the past 5 years. The funeral service will be conducted at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Monday, June 17 at 2 pm, with visitation preceding from 1:30 – 2 pm.  Reception to follow.  Private interment Victoria Memorial Gardens, Windsor.
