Obituary

WRIGHT, Gloria Marie – Peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, November 29, 2021 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Donald (2015). Dear mother of Kathleen Cornelius and Ken Wright and his wife Kelly. Proud grandmother of Jennifer, Jessica (Jonathan), Joshua, Justine, Ryan (Emilie) and Jessica. Great-grandmother of Jade, Dalyn and Lily. Dear sister of Dr. Allen Herrington (Nancy). Loved aunt of numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Ada Herrington.

Gloria worked for many years as the office manager of London’s Crown Attorney’s Office where she was held in high esteem by the Crown Attorneys, members of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies locally, provincially and federally. She was a member of Hyatt Avenue United Church where she was active in the United Church Women’s Association and the Ladies Bible Class.

As the matriarch of the Wright family, Gloria’s door was always open to friends, family and those in need. All knew they were loved by the wonderful meals at the cottage and their home in London.

Visitation will be on Friday from 7-9 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond where a memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, December 4 at 10:30 am. In order to attend the funeral home visitation and service, masks, proof of full vaccination status, along with government issued ID are required for those 12 years of age and older. Cremation with interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St Ansgar Lutheran Church or Metropolitan United Church would be gratefully acknowledged.
