Kime, Frederick Grant – Lovingly surrounded by his family, Frederick Grant Kime peacefully passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 78 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, Ontario, across the Thames River overlooking the neighbourhood where he grew up.
Loving and devoted father of Tony Kime (Bonnie), Deborah Kime (Willem), Geof Kime (Shelley), Anna MacDonald (Bruce), Heidi Bayley (Jamie), Sam Bayley (Leanne) and Peta Bayley (Mike). Proud and caring grandpa to Megan, Heather, Chelsea, Liam, Nicholas, Christopher, Jacob, Daniel, Angus, Polly, Oliver, Maggie and Georgia and great-grandpa to Nathan and Kaitlyn. Beloved son of the late Frederick and Anna Kime. Devoted brother of Patti, John, Bill and Mary. Grant will be affectionately remembered by his former wives Jennifer Kime and Deanne Pederson. Grant will also be fondly remembered by all of his cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Grant was known for his incredible generosity, a passion for nature, animals and his farm and his business acumen, all which deeply influenced his family, friends and business colleagues. Grant had longstanding rural roots in Middlesex County and the London area. He was a true entrepreneur, with a lengthy business career that he maintained right until the end. He started as a Certified General Accountant, working with Kime and Company, auditing for many municipalities in southern Ontario. Grant was a true visionary and innovator in the agri-business sector, being the driving force and founding shareholder behind the highly successful drainage pipe manufacturing company, Big O Inc. Grant was highly respected in the industry by his peers, competitors and employees.
Family will receive visitors on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St James Street at Richmond, London, Ontario where a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10 am.
