The family of J.G. McMurray Ph.D. announces his death on July 10, 2017 in London, Ontario. Grant was the beloved husband of Madeline Hardy McMurray and the only child of the late Thelma and Newton McMurray of St. Marys.
Surviving are his children David and his wife Nancy of Barrie, Mark and his wife Sherry of Calgary, and Carol and her husband David Lever of Aurora.
Grant is also survived by and was devoted to his six grandchildren, Andrew and Thomas McMurray, Meghan (Corey Hopkins) and Alison (Brad Savelson) McMurray, and Ellen (Parker Cotton) and Michael Lever, and great granddaughter Hannah Hopkins.
Grant had a long and distinguished career in Educational Psychology, as the first head of Psychological Services and Research for the North York Board of Education, and later as the founding Chairman of the Department of Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Education, Western University in London Ontario.
The funeral will take place at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2 pm, with visitation preceding the service from 1-2 pm. Private interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
