Jack Lewis

Obituary

LEWIS, John (Jack) Frederick – John Frederick Lewis passed away peacefully on Saturday April 11th, 2020 in his 84th year at his home in London, Ontario. Jack lived an active life, full of quick wit and humour up until a sudden onset of cancer in February of this year.

Jack was an avid world traveller and had many adventures with his beloved wife and best friend of 49 years, the late Gwendolyn Jean Lewis, nee Spencer (2011). In Sarnia, Jack was a high school teacher for 30 years at St. Clair High School, a long time member on the Board of Directors for the Sarnia Concert Association, and a former member of Grace United Church.

Jack is lovingly remembered by his partner, Judith Walker, who supported him and enriched his later life in London, Ontario.

He was the loving father of Shelley (Derek Hardy), Charlotte, and Kevin, and grandfather of Maya, Aidan, Rachel, and Matthew. He was brother of William Lewis (Millicent) of Burnaby, B.C. and the late Richard Lewis (Lynda) of Sarnia, Ontario, as well as a dear brother-in-law and friend of Gregory Spencer and his wife, Pauline, of London, Ontario.

Jack was a kind and always entertaining uncle to all his nieces, nephews, and their families. His easy-going nature was cherished by his many long time friends from Sarnia and London.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Harris Funeral Home in London, at a later date. Details to be announced.

Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
