Obituary

LITTLE, Jack D.

After a courageous battle on Sunday March 12, 2017 at University Hospital, London. John (Jack) Duncan Little of London in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Phyllis for over 55 years. Devoted father of John (Jane Baird), David and Bill (Susie Bailey). Very proud grandfather of Jared, Jacob and Mason. Dear brother of Joan Whitlock and her husband Bev of Glencoe. Brother-in-law of Margaret Herrington and her partner the late Barry Fry of London and Richard Mahoney and his wife Wendy of Katrine formerly of London. Jack will also be missed sadly by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Jack was born on the family farm in Ekfrid Township on February 7, 1936. He graduated from Western University and began a distinguished career in education, beginning as a teacher and culminating as Director of Education for what is now the Thames Valley District School Board. Jack spent countless hours volunteering his time on numerous Boards of Directors, was very active in Rotary International where he was a past District Governor and has been an active leader at his church, Siloam United. Summers and retirement years have been enjoyed by Jack and Phyllis at their beloved cottage that Jack built on Little Doe Lake.

Visitation on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London. The funeral service will be conducted at Siloam United Church, 1240 Fanshawe Park Road East, London on Friday March 17 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Glencoe. Memorial contributions to the Siloam United Church Memorial Fund or The Rotary Club of London would be appreciated.
