James Henry "Kim" Little

Obituary

LITTLE, James Henry “Kim”
1935 – 2022

Kim died peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospice in London on November 5, 2022.

Kim was predeceased by his parents James Sutherland Little and Lillian Anne Little (née Green) and his beloved wife of 58 years, Charlotte Ann “Sally” (née Merwin). He is loved dearly by his son Ross (Dorothy) of Oakville and grandchildren Andrew and Katie; his daughter Mary (Richard-Yves Sitoski) of Owen Sound and step-grandson Daniel; and his son Michael (Susan) of Oakville and grandchildren Marley (Virgile Bressy), Miles and Emily.

Born in Woodstock, Kim attended Lakefield College School (‘53), University of Western Ontario (BA ‘56), and Osgoode Hall Law School. He was called to the Bar in 1960 and maintained a love and passion for the law, practicing to the age 87.

Kim met the love of his life, Sally, in Toronto and made a home in London filled with warmth, hospitality, family, friends, and laughter.

Kim always had time for others. He cared deeply for his community and gave generously of his time and expertise to the people and places he loved – from Lakefield College School, St John the Evangelist Church, the legal community, the Naval Association of Canada, and many others.

Among his many passions, he enjoyed skiing and entertaining at Moose Manor, sailing the North Channel, autumn hunt trips at Birch Lake, lunches at the London Club, playing at the London Squash Club, and golfing at the London Hunt Club.

A friend to all he encountered, Kim lived his life with generosity, selflessness, integrity, love, and joy. He lived a full life and served well.

Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 3-6pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral will be held Saturday, November 26, 11am at the Church of St John the Evangelist, 280 St. James St. at Wellington, London.
