STILLWELL, James – Our dearest Father, Husband, Papa, best friend has passed at the age of 81 years, James Dennis Stillwell (November 17, 1942 – February 7, 2024).
Predeceased by is beloved wife of 58 years, best friend, confidante and soulmate, Diane Edna Stillwell, nee Webb (2022). Proud father of Lorie (Paul) Sutton, James Jr. (Diane), and Colleen Stillwell (Scott). Loving Papa to Trina (Nick) and Matthew (Chelsea) Sikic and Lexie (Nathan) Elsbrie. Predeceased by parents James A. and Winnifred Stillwell and in-laws George and Noreen Webb, brother Ronald Stillwell and sister Shirley Currie. Dad retired in 2002, after 31 years with the London Fire Dept as Chief of Fire Inspection. Dad made many friends throughout his years, quietly helping others along the way. Breaking our hearts, the dementia/alzheimers stole his memory, but not ours.
We wish to specifically thank the whole team at what was previously Chartwell and now Age Care. You provided Dad with a safe, loving environment and he thought of all of you as family, so did we. Thank you also to long-time family friend Chaplain Maureen Dwyer.
Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 14 at 11 am. Cremation to follow. Private interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date.
