Obituary

STEWART, John – Quietly with family by his side at Meadowpark Long Term Care on Sunday, May 19, 2019, John Graham Stewart of London age 75. Loving husband of the late Barbara. Dear brother of Ritchie Stewart (Janice), Janice Kathleen Crescuolo (the late Phil), and Allan Douglas Stewart (Lynn Forsyth). Father of Brom. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Hudson and Joan (McCormick) Stewart. Also loved by Kimberly de Freitas, Anita Goodfellow, Blu Say and stepson Christoph Mehrlein.

John was a brilliant, caring man. For many years, he was a dedicated secondary school French teacher. He was a devoted man of faith, who was an active member and Elder at New St. James Presbyterian Church and passionate about the work of the London Ecumenical Refugee Committee (LERC). He loved helping young people and new Canadians. Also an avid historian, John was an expert on all things related to the Avro Arrow. His family will miss his warmth, intelligence, and dry wit.
