LEE, Katherine (Kay), nee Jackew – died peacefully while holding her daughter’s hand on May 16th, 2020 at the tremendous age of 93 at the Village of Glendale Crossing. Kay is predecessed by her husband, Howard (1984) her brothers Nick and Bill and sister Anne. Survived by her children Gerry (Monique), Marianne and her sister Olga.
Kay was a fabulous cook, sewer and gardener and enjoyed many different crafts which were done to perfection. After a hard day’s work around the house and garden she would sit with family and enjoy her beautiful gardens in the evening with a glass of wine. Kay was always on the move! She remained active all her life. Even after a stroke at age 90, she could often be seen walking through the neighbourhood with her walker. Kay was also a lover of animals, most recently “her Lucy.” They always brought her great joy.
A special thank you to the entire staff of the Brighton Neighbourhood at the Village of Glendale Crossing and Dr. Andrew Whynot all of whom showed such compassion, respect and love towards Kay and her family during her stay there, especially in her final days.
She was a loving, caring, giving, awesome Mom and she will be truly missed. In Kay’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society London and Middlesex to be used for Pet Care only.
A private family service will take place at Harris Funeral Home with interment to follow at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
