Obituary

McBRIDE, Kenneth – With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ken McBride of London age 85 on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, with family by his side at University Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years Margaret (nee McLellan); his children Jamie (Jennifer), Carroll (Jason) Spence, John (Jennifer); his adored grandchildren Allie (Tyler), Katie, Emma, Carter, Quinn and Aaron; his siblings Robert (Fern), Emily and Joan (Gord) and the late Bill (Donna); his many nieces and nephews and all of his dear friends.

Many know Ken as the owner of WI Steel where he worked at his drafting board alongside his partner and friend Jack Hodgins. Ken loved his rounds of golf with his golf buddies and was an amazing woodworker, creating many beautiful pieces of furniture.

Nothing was more important to Ken than his family. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and was happiest surrounded by them, especially at Christmas time. Ken will be missed and remain in our hearts. He will always be “the head of the McBride family table.”
