Lara Vlach

Obituary

VLACH, Lara – Unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism at Victoria Hospital on Friday, May 19, 2023, Lara Jean Vlach of London age 38.

Beloved daughter of Karel Vlach (Jennifer Krische) and the late Jeannie Taylor (2002). Predeceased by brother Alex Vlach (2006). Dear granddaughter of Lili Rechnitzer (Peter, 2017). Lovingly remembered by the Vlach, Krische, Taylor, Norman, Farghaly, Lukas, and Beard-Clark families and dear friends.  We cannot leave out her fur baby S’mores. She has joined many family members and friends who have predeceased her. We know they are having a lovely welcome party for Lara.

Lara was the consummate humanitarian, graduating from St Jeromes, U of Waterloo, Bachelor of Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies (SMF). Lara become an Early Childhood Educator (Fanshawe), working at Childreach, as a Parent Support Educator empowering, advocating and changing the lives of many children and adults alike.  We know they miss her deeply.

Lara was growing to be a real green thumb, stemming from her fantastical experiences at Camp Tanamakoon.  Her professional dream come true was the involvement in the Wild Child Camp program in which children learn through experiences that positively challenge them in the natural environment.

You may have seen Lara stop and talk with everyone, no matter their walk in life. She was comfortable in her skin and could not understand why people could not let her have that comfort, as well as anyone else who was outside what is deemed ‘normal’. She was active with human rights issues, particularly, LGBTQ+, Indigenous Rights, Women Rights and always in her heart, Animal Rights.

She lived in Woodstock, Waterloo, (Sharbot Lake) Kingston, Yellowknife and Calgary and came home to London, much to her family’s surprise and joy.

We mourn this life that is cut way too short.  Lara found her stride and we were so excited to see the trails she would set ablaze.

We would appreciate your love and hugs.
