YATES, Valerie – Peacefully at University Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, Valerie Yates, nee Priestly of London in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Yates. Loving mother of Stephen (Barbara) of Kingston, Jennifer Munds, Peter (Bev) all of London. Dear Nanny of Vivian, Melanie, Julian, Heather, Lynsey, Kenneth, Brigitta and Karen and great-grandmother of Lera, Zoe and Olivia. Valerie was born in Wales and spent 15 years in Kenya. She enjoyed her work in Communications at University Hospital and she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist where she sang in the choir for many years. Special thanks to the caregivers in the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, May 11 at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 280 St. James St. at Wellington. Cremation followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Music Endowment Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
