FISCHER, William (Bill) – Peacefully at Southbridge Long Term Care on Sunday, April 14, 2024, William Earl (Bill) Fischer of London in his 77th year.
Beloved husband and soul-mate for 51 years of Margaret. Dear father of Mary (Admar) and Luke. Predeceased by his brother and best friend Norman and parents Peg and Earl Fischer of Stratford.
Bill enjoyed many summers with family and friends at Turnbull’s Grove and was an important part of life there. A talented musician, he loved playing the guitar, especially accompanying his brother Norm on the fiddle. Bill was a life-long surveyor, retiring from the MTO in 1996 and then on to further success in the private sector. He was a loved and respected mentor to many employees over the years. He was a wise, honorable man and kept everyone on their toes with his dry sense of humour. He will be missed and will never be forgotten – “See you later, alligator.”
Special thanks to all of the caregivers at LHSC Kidney Dialysis and at Southbridge.
Visitation on Thursday from 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 19 at 11 am. Reception to follow. Memorial contributions to the London Health Sciences Foundation (Kidney Dialysis) would be appreciated.
