BLAIR, William ‘Grant’ – Peacefully, Grant was joyfully reunited with loved ones, while listening to Bach’s organ works, at Glendale Crossing Long Term Care on August 29, 2023, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee MacNain) (2017) for almost 66 years. Loving father of Carolyn Wood (Rick), the late Beverley (2021) Yates (Peter), the late Judy (2017) Marinelli (John) and the late Gordon (2021). Dear Grandpa of Kirstin Novak (Corey), Graeme Wood (Erin), Ken Yates (Kate), Karen Kipling (David), Sarah-Teresa Marinelli (Jack Deeley), and Louis, and Daniel Marinelli. Great-Grandpa of Neveah and Myla Novak, Freddie Wood, and Lily Kipling. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Grant was a music teacher and church organist in Montreal, Stratford, and London for many years. He will be remembered for his sense of humour (Blair jokes), interest in family history, love of classical music, as well as dogs, steam engines and cars. The funeral service will be held at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington St at Dufferin Ave., on Saturday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m.. Private interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Canadian Cancer Society, The MS Society, or The Canadian Mental Health Association would be welcome expressions of sympathy. Sincere thanks to the compassionate staff of the Glanworth Neighbourhood at Glendale Crossing and to nephew Don Blair for his care and support. Our “energizer bunny” has lost his charge. Sleep well, Dad.
